Sets of washable pads for vulnerable East African girls
Sustainable Comfort, Unleashing Confidence
Distributing 600 washable pad packs in the next six months is crucial for empowering vulnerable teenage girls in East Africa who currently resort to using newspaper, leaves, mattress stuffing, and goat skin. These reusable pads offer sustainable menstrual solutions, reducing environmental impact, and ensuring these girls have access to a reliable and hygienic alternative. By providing them with washable period pads, we aim to replace makeshift materials, offering a dignified solution that promotes their well-being and enables discreet menstruation management.
Distributing washable period pads to these teenage girls promotes empowerment, dignity, and discreet menstruation management. This initiative not only contributes to better health and hygiene standards, reducing the risk of infections, but also supports educational continuity, encouraging consistent school attendance among teenage girls. Furthermore, community engagement and skill-building opportunities arise, fostering cultural sensitivity and opening avenues for conversations around menstrual health, breaking stigmas, and advancing educational programs on puberty and hygiene in these communities.
Eat set contains 2 pairs of underwear, 2 shields, 8 pad liners, a bar of soap and a drawstring bag.
